Stratford 2012
Friday, June 15
2:50 p.m.

Every year is the same, yet every year is slightly different.
Of course you're wondering what I mean. (Who doesn't?) Well, read on. This year we decided to visit Stratford for our annual getaway on a Friday-Saturday, as opposed to our usual Saturday-Sunday slot. This was the only way we were going to get tickets to the two plays we wanted to see in one weekend.
Lisa and I left home around 11:00 a.m., stopping in Oakville to pick up Jordana at her apartment. By 12:30, we were getting hungry, so we stopped at Harvey's in Cambridge to get lunch.
Then it was back on the highway. We arrived at the Arden Park Hotel (our second year here, read review) at 2:00 p.m. and checked in to room 308.
Now we are relaxing (Jordana is sleeping). Our current plans are to go downtown later for shopping and dinner and then off to the Festival Theatre to see The Matchmaker.
Till later.

4:15 p.m.
We're changed and heading out.

6:32 p.m.
We are back at the hotel for a few minutes. After we left, we headed to the park in the downtown area to take some post-grad pictures ( check them out), walk around and stopped at Kitchen Connaisseur to buy jams, BBQ sauces, mustards and relish. We even stopped at the Theatre Store at the Avon Theatre. Then it was off to Gene's for chinese dinner. (actually was just so-so this year)

11:30 p.m.
We just got back to the hotel. The play was so great and very funny. We sat in aisle 7, row 7, seats 48-50 (we had the same seats for both plays). After the play, we stopped at Shopper's Drug Mart and then went to Tim Horton's for dessert.
Well, that's it for the day. Overall, it's been a great one.
Till tomorrow.

Saturday, June 16
9:00 a.m.
Good morning. We're up and almost ready to go down for breakfast.

9:55 a.m.
We're back from breakfast. Would you believe all our breakfasts were cold, and we had to ask for refills of coffee? When the bill came, our server said she took off the charge for our drinks. As she walked away, Lisa made a comment about leaving a tip. I guess she heard us because she came back and took the bill away. So breakfast did not cost us anything. As a result, I did leave a tip.

12:30 p.m.
Good afternoon. So basically, the morning was a repeat of our usual Sunday morning routine from previous years. We went to Dollarama where we purchased a few necessities.
Eventually we wound up at the Festival Marketplace or the "Mall" where the ladies bought shoes. Then it we went for a "snack" to tide us over. Jordana gave me my father's day gift early - a gift card for Coles. So I went and bought a book. Then we changed and headed to the Festival Theatre to take some more post-grad/pre-father's day photos in the park see 42nd Street.

4:30 p.m.
It was a good photo session and the play was amazing. After the play ended, we headed to Crabby Joe's for dinner.Mom had honey garlic chicken wings with sweet potato fries and Jordana had chicken wings. They shared both orders. I had salmon stir fry.

5:30 p.m.
Dinner and service was very good. Now we say goodbye to Stratford for another year (decided not to return in August, as there is nothing we wish to see).

7:20 p.m.
We are home now. Going to unload the car and put things away. So long, from the Stratford Express.
