Stratford 2008

On June 28, 2008, the family packed an overnight bag and headed to Stratford, Ont. to see two plays, just as we had done a year earlier.

We had a leisurely Saturday morning and left after lunch and approximately 90 minutes later arrived in the city. We checked into our motel, the River Garden Inn. Jordana took it easy while Lisa and I decided to go for a walk. Afterwards we relaxed in the room before changing and heading into the city.

After walking around a while, we went out for Chinese food at Gene's and then saw Cabaret. The play was great. It remains a classic. It is a very dark drama, but very good. When the play ended it was pouring out. However we waited a bit and it stopped so we left nice and dry.
After the play we stopped at Shopper's Drug Mart to buy some milk and juice for the room before going to Tim Horton's for coffee and dessert.

The next day, we checked out and went for breakfast at the same place as we did last year. Afterwards we went back to the hotel, checked out and went to Sears where we all bought new clothes. We then went to Dollarama, before we went over to Wendy's to change for the play. Of course by this time, it had started to rain again so we really could not walk around the town, so I dropped Lisa and Jordana off at the theatre and walked back.
Unlike the drama we saw the previous night, The Music Man was a musical and a very good one at that. We loved it. After the play we walked around a bit and bought some jam, relish and mustard at a specialty shop. Then we went to Kelsey's for dinner and headed back to Toronto.
